Last year, Luxton School reached out to us after the tragic death of Brother Irvine Jubal Fraser. A group of students presented transit operators with painted rocks as a show of appreciation for transit operators and workers. We had two Operators visit and speak with students, and had two full time officers explaining the job of a Bus Operator and the challenges they face. This year the school has invited us to be recognized at an assembly featuring the entire school.
Any operators interested in attending the assembly this year are encouraged to do so on March 7th, 2018. Please RSVP if you are able to attend, but no registration is required.
There will be two assemblies, at 10:00am and 10:50am.
Each assembly will be 25 minutes and will feature:
* 3 minute video (WSD Bus Driver Surprise Celebration)
* Brief slide show of transit rocks that the kids have made & Transit Drivers
* 10 minutes of discussion/speech from Aleem or an ATU rep.
We would like to see as many uniformed Bus Operators as possible. If interested, please show up at Luxton School which is located at 111 Polson Avenue. We ask everyone who is able to take a few minutes out of their busy days to go and show our gratitude for the efforts of these outstanding students.
