Welcome from the Members of Local 1505 Amalgamated Transit Union. Local 1505 is composed of the best group of men and women, working in a variety of occupations. All of our members provide essential and important service to the citizens of our City.
Local 1505, is happy to be a part of a International Union, who represents well over 180,000 members from across Canada and the United States. The Amalgamated Transit Union represents far to many classifications to name here, but some examples are maintenance trades, bus operators and clerical staff just to name a few. www.atu.org
Local 1505, represents some 300 Plant and Equipment personal as well as some 900-bus operators at Winnipeg Transit and some 29-bus operators at Brandon Transit. We also have well over 450 active retired members.
Our International Office is in Washington D.C., with a Canadian Council office in Mississauga, Ontario. www.atucanada.ca
Local 1505 provides numerous services to our members, such as negotiations, grievances/arbitration, assisting in Worker Compensation Appeals, welfare and comfort, as well as a number of Social activities such as a Christmas Party and Picnic for the Children and Grandchildren of our members. Local 1505 promotes a safe and healthy work environment. Local 1505 members pride themselves on providing a safe and reliable service to the customers we serve. Local 1505 are proud to provide these services to the citizens of Winnipeg and Brandon.
