You Have Rights to a Safe & Healthy Workplace?

You have legally protected rights to a safe & healthy workplace. These rights are protected by the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act. It's the Law!

You and all workers have these four (4) basic rights that are listed in Section 2(2)(e) of the Act:

1) Right to Know: You have the right to know about workplace hazards, to be informed of hazards, to be trained to recognize, trained to protect yourself, informed of your rights under the law.

2) Right to Participate: You have the right to take part in safety & health activities in your workplace & have a say in how to make your workplace safe.

3) Right to Refuse: If you reasonably believe that a particular work unsafe, you don't have to do it! Section 43(1) to 43.3(2) of the WSH Act has more details.

4) Right to Protection from Reprisal: This is a fundamental right. It is illegal for an employer to discipline or discriminate against you if you exercise any of your rights under the WSH Act.
