Chris joined Winnipeg Transit as an Operator in February of 1999. He first became a shop steward in 2000 and was elected as Recording Secretary in 2001. Chris has served the membership in various committees and elected positions ever since.

“First and foremost, I want to thank the membership for electing me as President. As President I plan to bring the Transit service level back up to the level that our citizens deserve, and to improve the job for our workers – so we can be proud of our jobs again. I strive for ATU to be the strongest civic union we can be and look forward to working with all stakeholders and our membership to achieve this.” Said Chris Scott, President-Elect of ATU 1505.

Joining Chris are Derek Hanley, newly elected as Executive Vice President, and Mohinder Sidhu, Financial Secretary Treasurer (re-elected), and several new Executive Board Members.

“I consider it a privilege to have served our membership and advocate for Transit improvements over the last three years.” Said Romeo Ignacio, former ATU 1505 President. “It has been a challenging and rewarding experience; I wish the new officers all the best in their new roles.”

The newly elected officers and board members formally take office for a three-year term beginning on January 1, 2023.
