WINNIPEG, August 4, 2022 – While ATU members rallied at City Hall for a safer Transit System Transit workers were literally being assaulted while on duty.

It was a great turn-out at our Rally for Transit Safety!  Transit workers, union activists, politicians, Transit advocates, Transit users, and the public all came to support the call. 

WINNIPEG - On July 24, 2022 a passenger attempted to stab a Winnipeg Transit driver with a knife by reaching around the driver's shield.  ATU Local 1505 demands for extended shields to be installed for the safety of operators, riders, and the surrounding public.

WINNIPEG, June 24, 2022 - ATU Local 1505 has long been an advocate for the need to address the prevalent issue of homelessness and addiction in our city.

On the evening of June 16th, 2022, the City of Winnipeg announced the removal of the mandated requirement for City employees, including Transit workers. 

ATU 1505 is pleased to introduce this year's Honoree: Tadeusz Pilozow in recognition of his dedication and accomplishments.  There will be two (2) $500.00 scholarships awarded.
